Nes Mburu Bio

Nes Mburu is a Kenyan vocalist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist whose sound carries the soul of East Africa into the global Afro House movement. Born in Thika, Kenya, Nes grew up surrounded by music, developing an early connection to rhythm through the conga before expanding into guitar, piano, songwriting, and vocal performance.

Known for his warm, unmistakable voice and emotionally rooted melodies, Nes has become a sought-after collaborator in the international Afro House scene. His breakout presence can be heard on “Peperuke” with Alex Wann, a record that introduced his vocals to dance floors around the world, as well as “Maithori” alongside Nitefreak, Frigid Armadillo, and IDRIS / Idris Elba — a powerful cross-continental collaboration sung in Kikuyu and built around themes of love, heartbreak, and reflection.

Blending traditional African expression with modern electronic production, Nes brings a rare human quality to club music: spiritual, melodic, rhythmic, and deeply honest. Whether performing as a vocalist, writing toplines, producing, or collaborating with artists across continents, his music reflects a mission bigger than genre — to connect people through feeling, language, and rhythm.

With releases and collaborations spanning respected labels and producers across the Afro House world, Nes Mburu continues to represent Kenya on a global stage, carrying East African storytelling into the future of dance music.
